For 20 years Gap Adventures has been changing lives all over the world through unforgettable, sustainable adventure experiences to the most intriguing destinations imaginable. The Create Your Own Adventure travel contest is designed to allow you to create your very own tour, with the winning entry being featured in our 2011 Gap Adventures brochure.
The winning entry, as determined by user voting and our panel of judges, will travel on the dream tour of their creation for free, along with two of their luckiest friends. Joining them will be five other winners from our Mystery Draw.
Prize packages from our sponsors will be awarded throughout the duration of the contest, so the more often you enter - and more often your friends vote for your entry - the more chances you’ll have to win!
Some Tips on Creating Your Own Adventure
Be Creative! Browse through existing Gap Adventures tours to get some inspiration, but create something different! Make sure your tour stands out from the crowd.
Read the Rules! Pay attention to our judging criteria. Certain types of tours are bound to be judged higher than others. We’re looking for trips focused on sustainable adventure travel that provide life-changing experiences. Does your tour achieve either?
Be Social! You need to do some shameless self-promotion. Send your tour to friends and family. Share it on Facebook and Twitter. (Lure them in with the promise you’ll take them along if you win!)
Be Realistic! At up to 16 days, your tour can include virtually any highlight you desire. Just don’t try to pack ALL of your dream activities into 2 weeks or less. The more people your tour appeals to, the greater your chance of winning!

Judging Criteria
Our Top 20 Finalists and the Grand Prize winner are decided on popular vote and judging panel criteria. Well written, unique and exciting entries will tend to attract higher judging scores, so keep these in mind when submitting an entry.
